The Phoenician in Scottsdale, part of Starwood's Luxury Collection, spends nearly $372,000 per year on irrigating its grounds. Now it has replaced its 21 irrigation controllers with HydroPoint Data Systems' WeatherTRAK technology, which uses local weather data and site-specific details to eliminate overwatering. It expects water consumption to be dramatically cut by 30%, saving as much as $111,000 in the first year alone.
